How to enable Translatium extension for Safari

The Safari web extension is bundled with the Translatium app for Mac.


  1. Install Translatium for macOS
    1. Go to the Map App Store and search for “Translatium”.
    2. Download and install the Translatium app on your Mac.
  2. Open Safari settings:
    • Open Safari.
    • Go to the “Safari” menu in the top-left corner of the screen and select “Settings”.
  1. Enable the extension:
    1. In the Settings window, go to the “Extensions” tab.
    2. Look for “Translate with Translatium” in the list of available extensions.
    3. Check the box next to “Translate with Translatium” to enable the extension.
    4. Select "Always Allow for Every Website...", and then confirm to grant permission for the extension to run.
  2. Grant permissions
    1. After enabling the extension, you should see the Translatium icon in your Safari toolbar.
  3. Translate
    1. You can now select text on any website, right-click, and select “Translate with Translatium” to translate the text.



Translatium extension for Safari requires Safari 14 or later.
